FAQ
All your questions
Before you come
Do I need to be experienced in yoga?
No. All levels are welcome, including complete beginners. Every posture is explained and adapted, and nobody is watching what the person next to them is doing.
Do I have to be a mother to take part?
No. The retreat speaks a lot about motherhood and identity because that is what most participants are living, but any woman who needs to come back to herself belongs here.
Can I come alone?
Yes, and most people do. The group is small: after two days you don't feel alone at all — while keeping the right to be, whenever you want to.
Can I come with someone?
Yes. A friend, a sister, your mother or your adult daughter: you share a double bed in one individual room, with €150 off per person.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
No. Mats, blocks, straps, cushions and blankets are all provided on site.
On site
What does a day look like?
Meditation and pranayama on waking, Hatha Yoga, an Ayurvedic breakfast, a workshop in the morning, the afternoon free or in nature, a reconnection time at the end of the day, Yin Yoga, dinner. The schedule stays soft: the point is not to fill every minute.
Is this a silent retreat?
No. There are chosen times of silence — the mornings, certain practices — but also conversation, laughter and sharing circles.
Can I have time to myself?
Yes. Personal time is part of the programme, not an afterthought. You can also skip a practice without having to justify it.
What kind of food is served?
Fresh Ayurvedic cooking, mostly plant-based, prepared on site with local produce. Particular diets, intolerances and allergies are taken into account: note them on the form.
Is this therapy?
No. It is an experience of wellbeing, education, yoga, Ayurveda and introspection. The workshops replace neither medical care nor psychotherapy.
What language is the retreat held in?
In French. A good level of French is recommended for teaching and group exchange. The venue team speaks Spanish and English. Write before booking if you'd like to discuss language.
Booking & cancellation
How do I book my place?
Click "Book my place" and follow the 4 online steps: dates, accommodation, a short form, then confirmation. We'll reply within 24 hours with the payment link for the €500 deposit.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. €500 on booking, then the balance in two payments, or in one at the latest 30 days before departure.
What if I have to cancel?
Up to 90 days before: the deposit is transferable to another session or refunded at 50%. Between 90 and 30 days: the deposit is kept, the balance is not due. Under 30 days: the stay is due in full, and that is where your cancellation insurance comes in.
Is insurance mandatory?
Yes, travel insurance covering cancellation and repatriation is required. Check the one included with your bank card first — it is often enough.
Does the price include flights?
No. The fee covers 7 nights, all practices, workshops, meals and the group shuttle from San José airport (SJO) to Puerto Viejo. International flights and personal expenses are yours to cover.
